Understanding status and trend

Each objective and initiative has a combination status and trend icon which signifies:

The zone an actual value resides
A trend direction based on previous actual values

Status is the current condition for an objective or initiative based on which zone an actual value resides. If an actual value resides in the positive zone, then the status for that objective or initiative is positive. Status can be positive, moderate, or negative. Trend is a series of related measurements that indicates a defined direction or predictable future result. If actual values rise at a rapid pace, the trend is calculated as an uptrend. Trend can be in an uptrend, flat trend, or downtrend.

Note:

Insufficient trend data will occur if there are not enough actual values to calculate trend.
Trend is determined by the number of recent actual values and a trend tolerance factor. An administrator can modify these settings.
