Lotus ActiveInsight, Version 6.1

Accessibility

IBM® Lotus™ ActiveInsight supports browser and operating system display settings for low-vision users and keyboard settings for all users. For information about display and keyboard settings, see the Help for your browser or operating system.

Keyboard shortcuts for main Scorecard page

The following keyboard shortcuts are provided:
Table 1. Main Scorecard keyboard shortcuts
Key Description
Ctrl+Alt+N Jump focus to Return to my scorecard link, if present, or View information link in Navigator
Ctrl+Alt+A Jump focus to first alert in My Alerts
Ctrl+Alt+S Jump focus to first objective in Scorecard
Ctrl+Alt+M Switch between normal menus and accessibility-friendly menus, the latter of which use less layers that need to be navigated; for example the Scorecard Actions menu button is replaced with separate individual toolbar buttons and the objective and initiative context menu cascades are merged down into a single-level menu

Screen Readers

The recommended screen readers for use with Lotus ActiveInsight are:
  • Freedom Scientific JAWS: http://www.freedomscientific.com/fs_products/JAWS_HQ.asp
  • GW Micro Window-Eyes: http://www.gwmicro.com/Window-Eyes/
Note: When using Window-Eyes, it is recommended to use Auto Load off (Insert+A) and Browse Mode off (Ctr+Shift+A) as the primary interaction with and navigation of the product. Turn Browse Mode on temporarily, when needed, to explore and learn.
  • IBM Home Page Reader: http://shopping.yahoo.com/search?p=ibm+home+page+reader
Note: When using the Home Page Reader, you should use the accessibility-friendly menus (Ctrl+Alt+M) to activate all of the menu actions without reader interference. With the Home Page Reader, the Up/Down arrow keys are reserved, so you should use the alternative keys for moving between menu items; for example Shift+Tab, Tab, or the Left/Right arrow keys. Also with the Home Page Reader, the Esc key is reserved, so you should use the alternative key for hiding menus: Ctrl+Alt+E.

Keyboard shortcuts for Flash components

The following Flash components are accessible from the keyboard:

Refer to each component's help for the supported keystrokes.

Limitations

Lotus ActiveInsight uses the existing standards to make our Flash components accessible, but there are still some limitations between Flash and screen readers that prevent a seamless experience. For example, instead of hearing immediate audible feedback after each keystroke, you must also press an additional key after each keystroke to get the reader to read the current context such as the Enter key with Home Page Reader.
Note: With some readers this Enter key technique does not work and, therefore, you will need to use the alternatives.
If you prefer, you can use the following alternatives to the Flash components:
Target Scheduler
Define your objective or initiative targets in a spreadsheet or xml file and import them using the Import action on your scorecard, objective, or initiative. It is easier to modify an existing spreadsheet than to create one from scratch; therefore, you can export an existing scorecard, objective, or initiative and then modify it to your needs.
Status Map
Follow a linkage chain directly on the scorecard by expanding an objective or initiative and then expanding its Alignments section as far down the linkage chain as needed.
Graph
Use the Report, which is the same data as in the visual graph but displayed in a tabular format.
