Information roadmap: Domino Integration

Follow this roadmap through information and instructions for planning, installing, securing, and configuring servers and portlets in a site with Domino Integration.

  1. Review the Collaboration topic to learn more about the collaborative features in Domino and Extended Products.
  2. Read the Planning for collaborative servers and portlets topic to review issues you must consider before installing and configuring IBM® Lotus® Domino® and Extended Products.
  3. Read Installing Lotus Domino and the Extended Products to locate information to help you install and perform initial setup of the required back-end servers.
  4. In the IBM WebSphere® Portal Express section, under the topic that explains how to set up a cluster on your operating system, read the instructions that explain how to prepare the user registry. Follow all instructions for enabling security. It is recommended that you use the portal configuration wizard to enable security.
  5. Read the Domino-WebSphere Portal Express Integration wizard overview to learn whether your portal site fits the prerequisites for automatic Domino-Portal Integration. If you can run the wizard, you will be able to skip many tasks in the following two steps, but should still read the sections for exceptions such as integration of the IBM Lotus QuickPlace® server.
  6. Follow the instructions to configure IBM WebSphere Portal Express to use Domino and Extended Products Portlets: IBM Lotus Domino, IBM Lotus QuickPlace, and IBM Lotus Sametime®, and their related portlets.
  7. If you intend to use the Common Mail portlet, review the configuration information in the topic, Messaging: the Common Mail portlet.
  8. If necessary, review reference and troubleshooting information on the Domino and Extended Products Portlets in the Reference topics for collaboration section. This section describes several ways you can customize your collaborative site by directly editing the Collaborative Services properties file (CSEnvironment.properties).
