Check out a document from a Microsoft application to prevent other
place users from editing it while you are working.
To check out a document:
- Open the document in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, or Microsoft
PowerPoint.
- Click .
- You can also double-click on a document in Windows Explorer, which
checks out the document and opens it for editing.
To unlock a checked out document, click . If
you have finished editing the document, save it back to the place and unlock
it by clicking .
