Quickr, Version 8.0 Services for Lotus Domino and WebSphere Portal
Connecting to Lotus Quickr
You can integrate Lotus® Quickr with
your desktop applications, providing an easy way to work with documents within Microsoft
Windows Explorer, Lotus
Sametime,
Lotus Notes®, Microsoft Word, and other familiar desktop applications on your
computer.
Connecting to Lotus Quickr from Lotus Notes
You can open and save files to and from your IBM Lotus Quickr places directly from your mail or other IBM Lotus Notes® applications such as discussions and teamrooms. You can send and receive links to files instead of actual attachments, saving space on your mail or application server, as well as making documents available for team collaboration.
Connecting to Lotus Quickr from Lotus Sametime
You can work with documents in places on an IBM Lotus Quickr server right from IBM Lotus® Sametime®. For example, you can read or edit documents, add documents, and chat about documents. A document is a specific type of file, for example, a Microsoft® Word file or Open Document Presentation file, that certain types of places on a Lotus Quickr server can contain.
Working with documents from your places list
You can perform a variety of tasks with documents from your places list. If you have installed the Lotus Quickr™ connector for Microsoft Office, you can also perform many of the same tasks using the Lotus Tools menu option from an open Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, or Microsoft PowerPoint document.
Working with folders in your places list
From your places list you can create folders in places, display and edit folders properties, refresh the contents of folders, and delete folders.
Using Windows shortcut keys
Windows® shortcut keys provide quick and easy access to frequently-used functions.
