Lotus Quickr, Version 8.0
Services for Lotus Domino and WebSphere Portal

Viewing and editing place properties

Place properties display server-based information about a place, for example, a title, description, server, last modification time. Place properties also let you control: the location of the local monitored folder that temporarily stores documents downloaded from the server, whether you are prompted to check out documents when you double-click them, and whether your places list displays views to help organize documents.

To view or edit place properties:
  1. Right-click the place in your places list, and then click Properties. If you want to use a different name for the place on your local system than the name assigned to the place on the server, you can type the local name in the editable field next to the place icon. The name you assign will only be used in your local places list. The name of the place on the Lotus® Quickr server remains unchanged.
  2. The place description is displayed. If the description field is blank, then the place was not assigned a description when it was created on the Lotus Quickr server. The description can be edited on the server, but not using the connector.
  3. In the Temporary File Location field, select a different local monitored folder in which to temporarily store the files from this place when you transfer files to and from the server.
  4. To delete all of the files in the current local monitored folder, click Delete. It is suggested that you use this option only if you need to clear disk space on your local system. If for some reason a local document file was not uploaded correctly to the server, and you deleted the local temporary files before resolving the error, you could lose document content.
  5. To be prompted to choose whether to check out a document (lock it) when you double-click it, select Prompt to check out documents when double-clicked. Otherwise, clear the setting.
  6. To display the pre-set views Drafts Views, Personal Views, and Shared Views in your places list, select Show Views. These views can help you locate certain documents easily, for example, documents that you have checked out, or documents that you have submitted for draft approval or that are awaiting your approval.
  7. Click OK.
