Understanding the views in your places list

If you select the place property Show Views, when you open a place in your places list, you see views through which you can access documents. While folders correspond to named document containers on the server, views are local to your places list and help organize documents, for example, by task you need to perform.

There are three types of views: Drafts Views, Personal Views, and Shared Views.

Drafts Views contains these three views:
  • Drafts to Approve lists draft documents that people have submitted to you for approval.
  • Submitted Drafts lists draft documents that you have submitted to others for approval.
  • Working Drafts lists private drafts of documents that you have not yet checked in to make available to others, as well as documents you have checked out.

Personal Views contains the view Checked Out by Me, which lists documents that you have checked out for editing, as well as any custom views you have created in the place.

Shared Views lists documents in custom views that all place users can see.
