Sending links to documents during chats

During a chat you can send your chat partner a link to a published document in a place. You can send links only to documents that are published and checked in. You cannot send links to draft documents or to documents that are checked out.

Perform the following steps:

From your places list, open the place that contains the document to which you want to link.
Right-click the document, click Chat about Document with, and select the name of your chat partner.

Chat partners who have installed the connector can right-click the link and work with the document by selecting Open, Edit, Versions, or Properties in the left pane of the chat window. Recipients who have not installed the connector can follow a URL to open the document through the server interface.
