Extend your current definition of blogging. Blogs are great for sharing team information and making general announcements.
Don't stop there...
Blogs are also great tools for receiving preliminary feedback on designs for rapid development and project enhancements. Blogs can be alternatives to e-mail. Why wait for a reply to an e-mail? Forget hitting refresh hoping that person x, y, or z has finally responded. Forget filling up your inbox with replies and forwards. Bring visibility to your questions and the answers to your questions with a blog.
Start a team blog to communicate agendas and to evaluate meeting effectiveness. Meetings are not always effective, because attendees are often unprepared to answer questions that might come up. Start a team blog before the meeting to allow participants to communicate on the meeting agenda beforehand. After the meeting, continue to blog to get feedback on the effectiveness and productiveness of the meeting. Keep communication open.
Explore blogs as an extension of your project management tools. Highlight upcoming milestones and alert others of potential road blocks.
