Navigation methods

Drag and drop

In any folder view, you can drag-and-drop documents into a Table of Contents folder. If you press the CTRL key you can copy the document; otherwise, drag-and-drop simply moves the document. Users cannot drag-and-drop if their access level does not permit them to perform the action.

Additional interaction and navigation features in folders

The following table uses some common actions to illustrate interaction and navigation features available in IBM® Lotus® Quickr:

Table 1. Common activities and navigation features
Activity Description
Deleting, moving, or copying content
  1. To delete, move, or copy all items in a folder, check Select All. Otherwise, select the check boxes next to the titles of the content you want to delete, move, or copy.
  2. Perform Delete, Move, or Copy using any of the following methods:
    • Click the item's context menu (the down arrow to the right of its title) and choose the appropriate action from the dropdown menu.
    • Click the checkbox beside the title and then click the Move action at the right of the folder under the Create dropdown menu.
    • Drag-and-drop the item to a different folder if you are only moving it. Combining the drag-and-drop action with pressing the CTRL key performs the copy action.
Note: If you check one or more titles, and then click first, previous, next, or last to move another set of titles into view, all the selections you made in the previous list of titles are lost. If the folder is a Response List folder and you are a place manager, selecting a page responses are connected to selects all the responses as well. If the folder is a Response List folder and you are an author, selecting an item to which responses are connected selects only that item, and not the responses.
Navigating content in an index

With a large index, or if your folder is a Standard List, Response List, or Ordered List folder and contains more than about 20 pages, you can navigate using the following options:

  • Jump lets you specify the title you are looking for and moves that title into view. Sort the items by the column that contains the text you are looking for, click Jump, and then enter the text you are looking for. For example, if you sort the folder by title and then click Jump and enter the text Design Proposal, IBM Lotus Quickr shows you the title "Design Proposal" at the top of an alphabetical listing of titles.
  • First moves the first set of titles in the folder into view.
  • Previous shows the previous group of titles in the folder.
  • Next Shows the next group of titles in the folder.
  • Last moves the last set of titles in the folder into view.
  • Showing items at the bottom of the list displays items in groups
Moving text

After you enter or edit text in the rich text editor, you can cut the text (or a portion of it), copy it, and paste it elsewhere within the content area. Highlight the text you want to cut, copy, or paste, and then use one of the following key combinations:

  • Ctrl-C copies the text. You can then paste one or more copies of the text elsewhere in the content area.
  • Ctrl-V pastes the text you cut or copied into the content area at the location of the cursor.
  • Ctrl-X removes the text from the content area. You can then paste the text elsewhere in the content area.
